Lego Pirates of the Caribbean Queen Anne’s Revenge Review

What a weekend this has been, not only did Man United beat Chelsea and hopefully now claim the league but I was woken up on Saturday morning to the sound of the door banging, upon looking out the window I could see that it was a delivery man and in his hands was my Lego Pirates of the Caribbean Queen Anne’s Revenge!
So after playing with Lego 4195 as it’s also known, I decided to give you my full Lego Pirates of the Caribbean Queen Anne’s Revenge review so you can decide for yourself if it’s worth buying this hundred pounds plus set or not.
For this review of the Lego Queen Anne’s revenge on going to try and give you as much detail as possible starting with the box. Now I love the artwork that Lego have used for the Pirates of the Caribbean sets, they seem to have a high gloss sheen which I’ve not noticed on any other lego theme.
Upon opening the box there are eight packets each containing the various Lego pieces and each packet is numbered 1 to 8, also included are two large and well made instruction booklets, which if you are used to building Lego sets you should have no problem building this set. You will also find a pack inside that contains a Blackbeard collectors card, a sticker sheet (which I know, I know we all hate), and a double sided Lego Pirates of the Caribbean poster with the image of the Queen Anne’s revenge and Lego Whitecap Bay in the background on one side and a generic Lego Pirates of the Caribbean scene featuring Jack Sparrow on the other.
Also included in the box is a cardboard sleeve which contains all the sails for the queen anne’s revenge.
The Lego Queen Anne’s revenge or Lego 4195 also contains a number of fantastic Lego mini figures including Jack Sparrow, Blackbeard, Angelica, Quartermaster, Cook and 2 pirates. I think this mini figures are fantastic come with a great range of detail and accessories which makes them really stand out and is a fantastic addition to this high-end set. On a side note just to let you know that in every Lego Pirates of the Caribbean set there is a different and unique Jack Sparrow mini figure. The Jack Sparrow do you get here comes with a sword and his compass and also comes with a two sided face, one shows him almost smirking, the other shows him smiling and showing teeth, you also get some really great markings on his torso, I think Lego have done a really great job on this.
What I really love about this Lego set is the detail for example you get some great accessories like skeletons, crossbones, lanterns, rum bottles and cannons. The detail on this ship is also fantastic each of the sails come with detailed prints on them, you get skull and cross bones flag which sits at the top of the ship and looks amazing, the whole back of the Queen Anne’s revenge is covered in skulls, the bow of the boat comes with features such as the anchor which just hangs down from the front and not to mention the burning skeleton which is placed at the front, my only slight disappointment with this is that it’s not easy to actually see the skeleton’s face, but this is just a minor issue.
And did I have mentioned that the Canon’s actually fire, which is really cool!
I mentioned that theback of the ship was detailed with skulls, in fact these are mini figure skull heads and they really set off the look of the ship, they really do look cool, you also get a full bodied skeleton that hangs from the top of the captains cabin which again leaves you in no doubt that this is a pirate ship.
Another feature that I love is the giant lantern that swings from the back of the ship it really does add to the atmosphere, as it has fire inside and two black skeletons on the outside. The captains cabin can be easily accessed by pulling at the ships wheel, inside the captains cabin you will get a map, some bottles and a mini trophy which is shaped like a mini figure of Jack Sparrow. I have a feeling that the mini trophy of Jack alone will become a massively collectors item that will be sought by many fans.
To conclude the Lego Pirates of the Caribbean Queen Anne’s revenge is a must buy for any Lego or Pirates of the Caribbean fan, it comes with a lot of cool and unique pieces, such as the real firing cannons, and the detail on the Captain’s quarters. I would highly recommend this set it was very easy to put together and also very enjoyable and I would have to give this set a good 9/10

The Lego The London Escape Set recreates the exciting scenes with Jack Sparrow and Gibbs trying to escape the King George’s Royal Guards and a hanging as they flee through the streets of London Jumping from horse drawn carriage to horse drawn carriage.

Lego City Space Shuttle – Cheapest Prices

The new Lego City Space Shuttle is a replica of the actual space shuttle that NASA uses today and this will make a great addition to your Lego City Space collection.
New for 2011 the Lego City Space Shuttle forms part of the new NASA space theme that lego has introduced into the Lego City themes. Other Lego City Space sets that are available include the Lego City Space Centre, Lego city space moon buggy and the Lego City Space Satellite Launch Pad.
The Lego City Space Shuttle is a really great set and fans are going to love this iconic shuttle which features opening bay doors from which a Hubble Space Telescope can be unleashed. The Lego Space Shuttle also features a cargo bay arm that can move and release the space telescope just like on the real space shuttles. You also get a astronaut minifigure which I think is one of the coolest looking minifigures I have seen in a while.

Every since I heard the rumour that Lego were entering the space race with their Lego City theme I was almost giddy with excitment and when you see the Lego City Space Centre set completed you will see that this is a must for all Lego fans.

I cannot wait until next year…lego and Pirates of the Caribbean join forces and will not only release a lego pirates of the caribbean videogame but also a range of nine lego pirates of the caribbean sets!

Scheduled to launch in spring 2011, eight new building sets will bring the action, stories and characters of the entire series of Pirates of the Caribbean films to life in LEGO form, including the spring 2011 premiere of the fourth installment, “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.”
