Lazer Stunt Chaser – Top Xmas Toys 2011

The Lazer Stunt Chasers are the cars that blew are minds at this years UK Toy Fair on the Flair stand. Originally made by Thinkaway Toys, Flair managed to get hold of the UK rights to distribute this hugely playable and fun RC car which is already being mentioned as one of the top Xmas boys toys for 2011.
We had a lot of fun last year playing with the Air Hogs Zero Gravity Laser and that proved to be a very popular Christmas toy as it was fun and a bit different, which is exactly what the new Lazer Stunt Chaser RC cars are like. Using a new remote control much like the Air Hogs remote, you project a beam of infrared light and the cars (Dragonfire or Flameout) chase after the light, using this method actually gives you better control and direction.
Now the Stunt Chaser as it’s name suggests is built for stunts! Now I don’t mean little jumps or flips, the Lazer Stunt Car is full-on full throttle action all the way, I have never played with such a fun car before, the speed at which they can go will amaze you and when you add the ramp (you get a ramp free with the stunt chaser) and let it fly, all I can say is that you better have enough room because this baby really will fly through the sky turning and twisting along the way…don’t worry if the stunt chaser flips on it’s back as you preform your stunts because this RC car is designed to be duel sided so it can drive on it’s front or back. Another neat little touch is that the wheels have lights built in which change colour depending which side of the car is being driven!
The technology behind this new range of Remote control cars seems to get better each year and with this range of cars I have to say that it is the best yet by a mile!!! I’ve never had so much fun, the car is easy to drive and control and the amount of stunts you can do is crazy, Flair even have a range of additional stunt sets which you can buy separately with names like the Crash Zone with Flip Ramps, the Cyclone Funnel Jump and the famous Loop the Loop Track!

TinTin Movie Poster – The Adventures Of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn

The new TinTin Movie poster has just hit the net and I have to say that this is getting me really excited!
I cannot wait to see the new TinTin Movie and I think the TinTin movie poster has done a great job of setting the feel!
Just the talent involved in making the new TinTin Movie alone makes my mouth water with, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as the bumbling detectives Thompson and Thomson, Daniel Craig as Red Rackham and Jamie Bell is the main man TinTin. Also featuring are Cary Elwes, Toby Jones, Mackenzie Crook and Daniel Mays. Then we have Peter Jackson producing; Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish along with Doctor Who genius Steven Moffat doing the script writing; John Williams is scoring and of course Steven Spielberg directing!

Lego Pirates of the Caribbean Queen Anne’s Revenge Review

What a weekend this has been, not only did Man United beat Chelsea and hopefully now claim the league but I was woken up on Saturday morning to the sound of the door banging, upon looking out the window I could see that it was a delivery man and in his hands was my Lego Pirates of the Caribbean Queen Anne’s Revenge!
So after playing with Lego 4195 as it’s also known, I decided to give you my full Lego Pirates of the Caribbean Queen Anne’s Revenge review so you can decide for yourself if it’s worth buying this hundred pounds plus set or not.
For this review of the Lego Queen Anne’s revenge on going to try and give you as much detail as possible starting with the box. Now I love the artwork that Lego have used for the Pirates of the Caribbean sets, they seem to have a high gloss sheen which I’ve not noticed on any other lego theme.
Upon opening the box there are eight packets each containing the various Lego pieces and each packet is numbered 1 to 8, also included are two large and well made instruction booklets, which if you are used to building Lego sets you should have no problem building this set. You will also find a pack inside that contains a Blackbeard collectors card, a sticker sheet (which I know, I know we all hate), and a double sided Lego Pirates of the Caribbean poster with the image of the Queen Anne’s revenge and Lego Whitecap Bay in the background on one side and a generic Lego Pirates of the Caribbean scene featuring Jack Sparrow on the other.
Also included in the box is a cardboard sleeve which contains all the sails for the queen anne’s revenge.
The Lego Queen Anne’s revenge or Lego 4195 also contains a number of fantastic Lego mini figures including Jack Sparrow, Blackbeard, Angelica, Quartermaster, Cook and 2 pirates. I think this mini figures are fantastic come with a great range of detail and accessories which makes them really stand out and is a fantastic addition to this high-end set. On a side note just to let you know that in every Lego Pirates of the Caribbean set there is a different and unique Jack Sparrow mini figure. The Jack Sparrow do you get here comes with a sword and his compass and also comes with a two sided face, one shows him almost smirking, the other shows him smiling and showing teeth, you also get some really great markings on his torso, I think Lego have done a really great job on this.
What I really love about this Lego set is the detail for example you get some great accessories like skeletons, crossbones, lanterns, rum bottles and cannons. The detail on this ship is also fantastic each of the sails come with detailed prints on them, you get skull and cross bones flag which sits at the top of the ship and looks amazing, the whole back of the Queen Anne’s revenge is covered in skulls, the bow of the boat comes with features such as the anchor which just hangs down from the front and not to mention the burning skeleton which is placed at the front, my only slight disappointment with this is that it’s not easy to actually see the skeleton’s face, but this is just a minor issue.
And did I have mentioned that the Canon’s actually fire, which is really cool!
I mentioned that theback of the ship was detailed with skulls, in fact these are mini figure skull heads and they really set off the look of the ship, they really do look cool, you also get a full bodied skeleton that hangs from the top of the captains cabin which again leaves you in no doubt that this is a pirate ship.
Another feature that I love is the giant lantern that swings from the back of the ship it really does add to the atmosphere, as it has fire inside and two black skeletons on the outside. The captains cabin can be easily accessed by pulling at the ships wheel, inside the captains cabin you will get a map, some bottles and a mini trophy which is shaped like a mini figure of Jack Sparrow. I have a feeling that the mini trophy of Jack alone will become a massively collectors item that will be sought by many fans.
To conclude the Lego Pirates of the Caribbean Queen Anne’s revenge is a must buy for any Lego or Pirates of the Caribbean fan, it comes with a lot of cool and unique pieces, such as the real firing cannons, and the detail on the Captain’s quarters. I would highly recommend this set it was very easy to put together and also very enjoyable and I would have to give this set a good 9/10
