More news from the SDCC, this time from James Cameron’s new 3D film Avatar. Avatar is the film i’m most excited about and I really think will be seen as a land mark film with regards to it’s 3D effects.
Mattel Toys have the licence for the Avatar mainstream toys and they showed off some of the range at the SDCC.
Mattel’s Avatar toy line will feature heroes, creatures and vehicles straight from the blockbuster film. Each action figure or vehicle will come with a 3D web tag, bringing a new level of interactivity to Mattel’s newest action play line. Utilizing a computer’s webcam, consumers can “scan” the web tag, unlocking special content unique to the product, like bio information on action figures and creatures, virtually on a home computer.
The Avatar Toys line looks amazing and I cannot wait to get my hands on them.

New Star Wars Lego set – “Tantive IV” Rebel Blockade Runner
Well it’s that time of year again and the San Diego Comic Con 09 has just kicked off and already a flood of great pictures and toys have been released.
The SDCC is a great place to see what some of the major toy manufacturers will be releasing in the run up to Christmas and early 2010.
To Start with, Lego have released details on it’s ‘Anniversary Edition’ Tantive IV Rebel Blockade Runner.
Released in the UK on Aug 25th and priced at £97.85, the Lego Tantive IV Rebel Blockade Runner 10198 is going to be a must have with the run-up to Christmas for star wars lego fans.
Blasting through space with Darth Vader’s Star Destroyer in pursuit, the Tantive IV blockade runner carries Princess Leia, C-3PO and R2-D2 on a vital mission for the Rebel Alliance. Celebrate the entire Star Wars saga with this all-new version of the very first starship seen in the films! The Tantive IV features an opening cockpit, rotating and elevating turbo laser cannons, rotating radar dish, removable roof section and interior command center. It also includes an opening compartment with removable cargo transport vehicle and 2 detachable escape pods for the droids to make their getaway with the Death Star plans! Indiana Jones Lego – Temple of Doom – Lego 7199

The new Indiana Jones lego sets have just been released by Lego and are available to buy now at the Lego store.
Lego have released 5 new Indiana Jones Lego sets, two from the Last Crusade and one from each of the other 3 Indiana Jones movies.
From Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark we have ‘Ambush in Cairo’ lego set lego 7195, from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, we have the ‘ Temple of Doom’ lego set, lego 7199, from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade we have the ‘Fighter plane attack’ lego set, lego 7198 and ‘Venice Canal Chase’, Leg0 7197 and finally from the last Indiana Jones film – Kingdom of the Crystal Skull we have the ‘chauchilla cemetery battle’ set, lego 7196 .
But it is the Temple of Doom, lego 7199 that stands head and shoulders above the others and looks to be one of the best Indiana Jones Lego sets yet.
The Temple of Doom 7199 Lego set comes with 652 pieces of lego and includes 6 great lego minifigures including a Mola Ram figure!
